Lucinda and Richard are both very experienced restorers of wood furniture, with many specialities in their combined decades of experience.
Restoration techniques can be applied to antique and older furniture of high value, but they can also be applied to well used, less valuable and more recent items of furniture. We do both and everything in between.
Restoration covers the external appearance of the wood, so includes all polishing, painting, varnishing and lacquering techniques, but we also cover structural renovation, repairs, replacement of components etc. These days, many items of furniture are given a second use, and we might be able to help you re-design an old dining table to make an impressive desk, for example.
The possibilities are endless, and the costs can be surprisingly low. It seems a shame to throw out or downgrade a mature piece of furniture just because it's not in top condition or because you don't need it any longer. Why not give it a second or third life?
There are so many examples, but here is just one. You can easily give your kitchen a low cost makeover with a different effect or colour on all the external cupboard and appliance doors, perhaps changing the fixings too. This is a superb value way of getting a different look in the house without breaking the bank.
We can provide the inspiration, or work to your design ideas!
